Under Idaho law, police who suspect that you may have been drinking may request one or more of the three available tests: blood, breath or urine tests. Usually, they will conduct a breath test if they suspect drinking and they will request a urine test if they suspect drugs are involved.
In order to admissible as evidence in court, these tests must be administered according to standard operating procedures. That means that the instrument has to meet certain requirements and the officer must have sufficient training in the administration of the tests. For example, the test has to be taken within a certain time frame after the traffic stop.
